Springer Publishing Company announced the publication of DNP Capstone Projects: Exemplars of Excellence in Practice, edited by Barbara A. Anderson, Joyce M. Knestrick, and Rebeca Barroso this September 2014.
It is described as:
“The only book to describe and analyze completed DNP capstone projects that have positively impacted clinical practice and health care outcomes.
Although several books have been written about creating capstone projects, this is the first to focus on exemplary, completed DNP capstone projects that have provided leadership for change in clinical practice, enhanced interprofessional collaboration, promoted advocacy and policy changes, or contributed to quality improvement in health care systems. The book also delivers key information on how to design, construct, complete, and disseminate a capstone project that, combined with detailed descriptions of exemplary capstone projects, will provide unparalleled guidance for current DNP students, faculty, nursing practitioners, and other health care providers.”
One of the book chapters titled – “The DNP Essentials and the Evidence-Based Practice Framework: Foundations of a Capstone Exemplar” was contributed by Dr. Pamela Lusk, Dr. Bernadette Mazurek Melnyk & Dr. Lynn Gallagher-Ford.
In this chapter, the authors describes how the exemplar DNP capstone project was designed using the seven steps of EBP and selected DNP Essentials as the framework to successfully implement an EBP change.
