2017 EBP National Summit Recap
Highlights
- The Helene Fuld Health Trust National Institute for Evidence-based Practice in Nursing and Healthcare was launched October 18-20, 2017, with the EBP Expert Forum and the EBP National Summit.
- There were 117 attendees hosted at the EBP Expert Forum preceding the summit. Leaders from more than 30 national nursing and interprofessional organizations, federal agencies and healthcare entities were invited to present and discuss the current state of evidence-based practice (EBP) across the disciplines. Organizations represented in the EBP Expert Forum included:
- AcademyHealth, American Academy of Nursing, the American Nurses Association, the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the American Public Health Association, the National Academy of Medicine, Sigma Theta Tau International, The Joint Commission, the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, the Oncology Nursing Society and more.
- Results from the EBP Expert Forum presented at the 2017 Summit and published in Worldviews on Evidence-based Nursing
- The EBP National Summit included:
- 281 summit attendees from 31 U.S. states + D.C. and 9 countries
- 83 presenters
- 57 concurrent sessions
- 16 poster presenters
- A national challenge for EBP projects was conducted and 7 winners were highlighted - Kerri Austin & Mary Carey in the Academic category | Leanne Adamson, Cindy Beckett & Linda Chan in the EBP/QI category | Ilana Chertok, Joyce Karl & Jennifer Newcombe in the DNP Capstone category.
