EBP Immersion (Virtual)

This unique program provides a “deep-dive” immersion into evidence-based practice (EBP). Participants will learn the step-by-step evidence-based practice process as well as effective strategies for integrating and sustaining EBP in clinical and academic organizations of any size or level of complexity. Participants will leave this experience with an action plan for implementing and sustaining evidence-based practice change and transforming their organizational culture. Bring your practice partner to collaborate on improved outcomes.
The five-day EBP Immersion program includes tracks designed specifically for mentors, leaders and faculty. The content is focused on the unique roles and responsibilities of these individuals in implementing and sustaining EBP in their own practice as well as across the organization.
Mentor Track: For individuals who will be working directly with other clinicians and helping them implement the EBP process in daily practice settings. The mentor track adds to the EBP skills learned throughout the early part of the immersion week with additional learning about the role of an EBP mentor. Key areas of the mentor track include understanding individual behavior change and organizational readiness for change, and strategies to implement and sustain EBP in an organization.
Leadership Track: For individuals who are in formal/informal or traditional/non-traditional leadership roles who will be working within their organizations to move EBP forward. The leadership track adds to the EBP skills learned throughout the early part of the immersion week with additional learning about the role of an EBP leader. Key areas of the leadership track include how to leverage an organization’s strengths/attributes to build, grow and sustain an EBP culture as well as how to overcome an organization’s weaknesses/barriers related to EBP. The leadership sessions are interactive and provide an opportunity for participants to share experiences and formulate strategies to implement upon return to their work settings.
Academic Track: For faculty and clinical educators who will be teaching and/or developing EBP courses, as well as integrating EBP throughout curricula in educational programs at all levels. The academic track adds to the EBP skills learned throughout the early part of the immersion week by layering in additional learning about how to create and/or teach EBP and integrate it throughout educational curricula at all levels in both academic and clinical settings. Key areas of the academic track include how to design appropriate EBP content for students at all levels of education across healthcare professions as well as evidence-based teaching strategies to use innovative approaches to effectively deliver content.
