Monday, July 16 th marked the end of an era with the National Guideline Clearinghouse ending. In the meantime, you can access the complete repository of NGC’s guideline summaries for FREE at www.guidelinecentral.com/summaries .
Currently, there are nearly 2,000 summaries available within the database, along with clinical calculators, quality measures and more.

Airman’s Project Receives Top Honor for Improving Patient Care
We love to see our immersion participants implementing EBP in their organizations! Take a look at how Staff Sgt. Sara Yonek of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is using evidence to improve patient care. WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio – Evidence-based practice is an approach to improve a process for patient care based on current data and practices. After observing a procedure the nurses and medical technicians provided patients at the 88th Medical Group, one Airman’s curiosity has earned her recognition for improving patient care. After working with patients with urinary catheters and epidurals, Staff Sgt. Sara Yonek, 88th Inpatient Operations Squadron medical technician and supervisor shift leader, began to question whether the current procedures was the best approach. Recognizing Yonek’s interest in improving patient care, her leadership enrolled her in the Ohio State University Center for Transdisciplinary Evidence-Based Practice course held at the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine, a course primarily attended by nurses. “Because nurses and medical technicians are the ones who provide daily bedside care to patients, I think that...
