Dónal O’Mathúna, PhD, is Associate Professor at the Ohio State University’s College of Nursing and the Center for Bioethics and Medical Humanities (omathuna.6@osu.edu). He is also Visiting Professor of Ethics in the European Masters in Disaster Medicine, Università del Piemonte Orientale, Italy, and Director of the Cochrane Affiliate at OSU’s Helene Fuld Health Trust National Institute for Evidence-based Practice in Nursing and Healthcare. His research focuses on ethical issues in disasters and humanitarian crises, particularly research ethics in such contexts. He has contributed to ethics initiatives with the World Health Organization, UNICEF and UNESCO, and authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and books (see https://nursing.osu.edu/faculty-and-staff/donal-p-omathuna).
