You will be able to have this certification, and the credential of EBP-C, for a period of 3 years. A reminder to renew will be sent to you before that time. Individuals who successfully complete this certification are entitled to state that they are credentialed with the EBP-C from the Helene Fuld Health Trust National Institute for Evidence-based Practice in Nursing and Healthcare. The added knowledge, skills, and attitudes that you have achieved will prepare you to serve in leadership roles within healthcare and academic institutions to lead the adoption and implementation of evidence-based practice concepts to strengthen quality healthcare.
- The certificate application and testing fees will total $395.
- Fuld National Institute for EBP 5-day immersion participants, within 5 years of immersion completion, will have a fee total of $350.
- The price is a two-part fee. An initial fee of $200 allows submission of registration and educational content for component one. Upon educational content acceptance, successful candidates will be prompted to pay the balance before component two is made available.
- All qualifying education must be completed prior to registration. After education requirements have been approved, you can complete the certification process in 3-6 months, with extensions as needed*. This allows for the submission of coursework, up to three attempts on the knowledge test, and the resubmission of portfolio items. You still must meet all required response times on components to maintain progress through the program.
- The entire process could take you about a month from registration through completion if you have valid coursework, register for, take, and pass the knowledge test as soon as possible, and submit all elements of the portfolio as soon as possible. However, 3 months is a reasonable and expected time frame for completion of all elements.
- You may have up to 6 months to complete all elements if needed. Again, you still must meet all required response times on components to maintain progress through the program. Candidates who have not successfully completed all elements of the certification process from 6 months after paying the initial registration fee will need to submit a new application and payment of fees to restart the process.
- Before you apply for this program, you should already have completed a qualifying educational component (within the last 5 years or less) and have a project or initiative completed within the last two years or less or fully thought out and ready to implement that you can submit.
