Expanding the Reach of Evidence-based Practice: Global impact from College of Nursing faculty and partners

Cindy Zellefrow, DNP, MSEd, RN, CSN, EBP-C, assistant clinical professor and director of The Ohio State University College of Nursing RN to BSN program, Stephen Adombire, a PhD student at the University of Toronto, and Diana Baptiste, DNP, MSN, RN, an associate professor at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, are leading an international effort to expand the reach of evidence-based practice (EBP) in Ghana. This collaborative initiative is supported by the Ghanaian-Diaspora Nursing Alliance (G-DNA) and the World Continuing Education Alliance (WCEA).

The first webinar in a five-part EBP series launched on July 10 and provided an in-depth overview of EBP. The initial session drew 537 attendees from across Asia, Africa and the Middle East. The audience included nurses, midwives, allied health professionals and clinical officers.

To continue advancing EBP globally, the Helene Fuld Health Trust National Institute for Evidence-based Practice in Nursing and Healthcare website was shared during the session. Four additional sessions are planned and will occur monthly.
