Zellefrow keynotes for EBP in Czech Republic

Cindy Zellefrow, DNP, MSEd, RN, CSN, EBP-C, assistant clinical professor and director of the RN to BSN program at The Ohio State University College of Nursing, served as a guest lecturer and keynote speaker at the 17th Annual International Symposium in the Czech Republic this past September.

Held at the University of South Bohemia in Ceske Budejovice, the symposium launched a new cycle of international nursing, scientific and academic collaboration. The event’s theme, “Challenges Affecting the Strengthening of the Role of Nurses in Modern Society,” brought together international scholars to explore a range of topics – including nursing education, multicultural care, community health and evidence-based practice (EBP).

During her visit, Zellefrow met with faculty from the university’s Institute of Nursing, Midwifery and Emergency Care to learn more about their programs, guest lectured for PhD students on EBP skills that support research, and engaged with regional healthcare leaders on how EBP can improve quality, safety and outcomes across Czech healthcare systems.

Her keynote address drew health sciences faculty and PhD students from institutions in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland. The presentation focused on effective strategies for integrating EBP into health science curricula.
