Fuld Institute Master Class: An Introduction to Evidence-based Practice Fundamentals

 

Overview: This 2-day course highlights the systematic and multifaceted nature of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP), emphasizing the importance of inquiry, rigorous evidence appraisal, thoughtful integration of evidence with clinical expertise and patient values, and careful planning for implementation and evaluation to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Participants will receive instruction on the fundamental principles and practices of EBP, access to tools for facilitating each step of the EBP process, and mentored time with expert faculty to apply content to current or anticipated EBP efforts within their practice settings. 

 

Methods of Instruction & Evaluation:

This accelerated introductory training will take place in person over the course of two days:

June 25-26th, 2025 on campus at OSU in Columbus, Ohio from 8:30am-4pm

 

Module Topics:

  • Foundations and significance of EBP in healthcare settings
  • Cultivating inquiry and establishing a culture to support EBP
  • Creating PICOT and other searchable questions
  • Optimal methodologies for searching available literature
  • Critical appraisal of evidence
  • Evaluation and synthesis of evidence
  • Integrating evidence with clinical expertise and patient preferences
  • Implementing and sustaining an evidence-based practice change
  • Leading teams through individual and group behavior change
  • Current and future advances in EBP
  • Use of artificial intelligence (AI) in searching and synthesis of evidence 

 

To participate in the program, you will need:

  • Access and use of email for communication
  • Access to laptop and productivity tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc)
  • Attendance at both sessions

 

Individual Program Fee: 

The program is $1200 per person.  A certificate of completion will be provided upon conclusion and participation in the two-day session.
