EBP: The Perfect Shared Competency to Promote Interprofessional Education and Practice

Although there has been a push for interprofessional education and practice in healthcare since the early 1970's, almost 50 years later. healthcare professionals still practice in silos in most places. The good news is, evidence based practice (EBP) is the perfect shared competency to bring healthcare professionals together! In this webinar we will explore the impact interprofessional education (IPE) and practice (IPP) can have on healthcare outcomes, why EBP is the perfect shared competency, an exemplar of how EBP can be leveraged in a large university and its academic-medical center to break down barriers and help move interprofessional education and practice forward, and an exemplar of outcomes realized when an interprofessional team used EBP to address a quality issue.
