Implementation & Sustainability of EBP in Healthcare Settings

In this synchronous online course, implementation experts will guide participants in developing a systematic approach to implementing evidence-based practices (EBP) within healthcare settings. Recognizing that implementation is often the most challenging phase of an EBP initiative, this program integrates theories, frameworks, and strategies from implementation science to increase the likelihood of meaningful and sustainable success. 

Participants will explore how to apply course concepts to real-world clinical scenarios while identifying specific EBP initiatives for implementation. You will learn how to assess your clinical environment for facilitators and barriers, select science-informed strategies to address these challenges, integrate existing quality improvement (QI) mechanisms, and operationalize components within a comprehensive implementation plan. 

Methods of instruction & evaluation: 

This accelerated hands-on training will take place online in a live, synchronous learning environment over the course of two days:  

September 3 & September 5, 2025, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. EST (synchronous, online)

Module topics: 

  • Introduction to a science-informed approach to implementation and sustainability 
  • Implementation Facilitation: Establishing the right team to promote behavior change and engage key stakeholders 
  • Introduction and overview of the Implementation Resource Guide  
  • Methods to evaluate implementation environments for identifying barriers and facilitators specific to each site 
  • Choosing and tailoring implementation strategies to address barriers 
  • Developing and operationalizing an actionable implementation plan 
  • Incorporating measurement and evaluation of implementation outcomes 
  • Planning for long-term sustainability of the intended practice change 
  • Integrating artificial intelligence (AI) tools to expedite the process of implementation planning 
  • Building organizational capacity to support ongoing implementation and sustainability of practice changes 

To participate in the program, you will need: 

  • Access and use of email for communication 
  • Access to laptop with audio and video capabilities with zoom 
  • Access to productivity tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc) 
  • Attendance at both sessions 

Individual program fee:  

The program is $1200 per person.  A certificate of completion will be provided upon conclusion and participation in the two-day session.  Participants will also receive a one-year subscription for ongoing access to The Fuld Institute EBP tools and resources.
