Principles of De-Implementing Low-Value Care in Healthcare

Program overview

Low-value care (LVC) includes tests, treatments, procedures or practices that provide little to no benefit, may cause harm, waste limited resources or do not align with patient preferences. This course introduces the principles of de-implementation as a structured, evidence-based process for reducing or discontinuing ineffective, unnecessary, tradition-based or potentially harmful healthcare practices. Participants will examine the prevalence and consequences of LVC and explore strategies to eliminate low-value interventions.
