Program overview
This program is designed for early-career health care professionals and aspiring leaders to help build confidence and competence in leadership and collaboration. Participants will complete a self-examination of interpersonal competencies, strengths and areas for improvement. Participants will also learn how to apply these skills within teams and workplace environments.

Module topics
- analyze how the five practices of exemplary leadership will enhance leadership effectiveness and contribute to a culture of evidence-based, relationship-centered practice
- apply evidence-based leadership strategies — aligned with the five practices of exemplary leadership — to promote team engagement, psychological safety, collaboration and continuous improvement in healthcare organizations
- explain the foundational concepts of emotional and social intelligence (EQ) — including self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management — and describe why EQ is essential for effective leadership in complex healthcare environments
- assess one’s own EQ competencies and develop an individualized action plan to strengthen at least one area of EQ through measurable, sustainable behavioral strategies
- analyze the impact of strength-based leadership on employee engagement
- apply evidence-based strategies to build a strengths-focused culture that fosters team collaboration and individual growth
- develop a SMART coaching or feedback goal that is specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time‑bound to support their growth as emerging health care leaders
- apply foundational coaching and feedback principles to create and evaluate leadership behaviors that promote psychological safety and team engagement
- analyze change management models and explain how leaders can apply them to guide individuals and organizations through change
- evaluate human responses to change and identify leadership strategies that promote success change transitions
- analyze evidence-based drivers of team effectiveness and apply these principles to improve collaboration, communication and psychological safety within diverse healthcare teams
- evaluate leadership models and teamwork to strengthen team performance, resilience, and patient care outcomes
