Enhancing Patient Safety: Integrating Evidence-based Practice with Fall Predictive Modeling

Sept. 25, 2025
Noon to 1 p.m.

This webinar series occurs on the last Thursday of every month from noon to 1 p.m. ET

Falls are a leading cause of preventable harm in hospitalized patients. To address this, a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and patient care experts has integrated evidence-based practice (EBP) with a fall-prediction tool to enhance patient safety. Attendees will gain first-hand access to these experts and learn how combining EBP with a predictive model can support informed decision-making and improve patient safety and outcomes.

She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Kent State University and holds national certifications as a Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN) and in Evidence-based Practice (EBP-CH). Allison serves as Social Media Liaison for the Ohio Clinical Nurse Specialist (OHCNS) Steering Committee and is a member of the NextGen Committee for the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists (NACNS).

She holds a BSN from the University of Akron and is a member of the Association of Nurse Leaders (AONL).

Learning objectives:

By the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the limitations of the current fall predictive model in capturing patient risk.
  2. Explain how evidence-based practice (EBP) can be integrated with predictive analytics to strengthen fall prevention strategies.

The "Enhancing Patient Safety: Integrating Evidence-Based Practice with Fall Predictive Modeling” webinar has been approved for 1.25 nursing contact hours.

To receive credit:

  • All participants, regardless of discipline, are required to log attendance using the link that will be provided at the end of the presentation. To receive a nursing CE certificate, participants must also complete the full evaluation.

CE certificates will only be issued to those who meet both requirements.
