In 2016, The Ohio State University College of Nursing received a $6.5 million gift from the Helene Fuld National Health Trust to create the Helene Fuld Health Trust National Institute for Evidence-based Practice (EBP) in Nursing and Healthcare. The Fuld National Institute for EBP is a national hub for the formation, teaching and dissemination of best practices to improve healthcare quality, safety, costs and patient outcomes. Its focus areas include transdisciplinary clinical practice, academics, community education and EBP implementation science.
Ohio State’s Center for Transdisciplinary Evidence-based Practice (CTEP), which created the foundation for the Fuld National Institute for EBP, has been leading the way in disseminating and teaching best practices to healthcare providers and academics since 2011.
Our offerings include the Master Class Series, which include 2 days of live instruction, either in person or in a synchronous, online platform. Topics include An Introduction to Evidence-Based Practice Fundamentals, Implementation & Sustainability of EBP in Healthcare Settings, An Introduction to Implementation Science Methods for Clinical Investigations, Teaching EBP, and Evidence-Based Leadership for Emerging Healthcare Leaders. We also offer self-paced, online modular programs that are available on-demand using an asynchronous learning platform. The topics for our modular programs are the same as for our live Master Classes, so participants can access the content they need, in the format they prefer.
We also offer free monthly webinars, EBP tools via our EBP-HQ platform, and the only EBP professional credential (EBP-CH). Consulting for individuals and organizations on EBP, implementation and sustainability, and implementation science are also available.

Message from the Associate Dean: Molly McNett
I’m proud and privileged to lead the Fuld National Institute for EBP into its next iteration. The Fuld’s historical impact on the evidence-based practice movement is broad and significant, with partners across the nation and around the globe benefiting from the advocacy and expertise of our institute. Our focus in this next iteration is to continue to meet the evolving needs of our healthcare partners, with a renewed focus on implementation and sustainability of meaningful, evidence-based practice changes. Our goals across the healthcare spectrum are the same: improve care, outcomes, experiences and equity and reduce the costs of care delivery. We believe a science-supported approach to implementation of evidence-based practices is the best vehicle to achieve those goals, and we look forward to continuing to positively impact patients, healthcare providers and healthcare systems in these efforts.
Message from the Dean: Karen Rose
The Ohio State University College of Nursing’s commitment to evidence-based practice is long-standing and ingrained in our college’s DNA. The esteemed Fuld National Institute for EBP has provided leadership, influence and real-world impact to the EBP movement in many corners of our world. I am grateful to the pioneers and practitioners who have set that foundation at the Fuld, and I am thrilled about the opportunities ahead under Dr. Molly McNett’s leadership. Many thanks to our partners in EBP who have and will continue to lead the charge with us!
